Just a clarification, Zhen Beiwang is not the name of the seme but it’s his title (his name will be introduced next chapter). Zhen Bei is a region and wang means king/prince/duke. So sorry for not explaining it in the previous chapters! *bow*

Shen Yu had only touched it, he hadn’t even started to rub it, and it is already upright. He can feel it radiating heat through the clothes.

ZhenBei King clutches his wrist.

“If you are not afraid I’ll break you, then keep tempting me.”

ZhenBei King tugs at him lighty, pulling him onto his lap facing the desk.

“Do you know how to write?”

ZhenBei King’s breath grazes the back of Shen Yu’s ear, and the warmth makes him ticklish and uneasy. His skin is so sensitive that even the roots of his ears turn red.

Shen Yu tries not to think too much about it, and shakes his head.

Back at his previous residence, his mother barely had enough money to keep them warm, let alone provide him with education. Moreover, she did not let him see anyone, he was locked inside at all times.

Shen Yu only learned a few words from his mother.

 “I’ll teach you.”

Even though Shen Yu had been through so much recently, he couldn’t complain. That is why ZhenBei King came up with the idea of teaching him how to write.

“This is how you write ‘past’. The ‘past’ for ‘this past year’ and ‘the past and present’.”

ZhenBei King points at the first word on the first line of the book in front of him. It’s the first chapter, Xia Pang Juan, of the book Sunbin Military Strategies.

Evidently, ZhenBei King is nothing but a passable teacher. He spent half his lifetime at war. He had ridden horses, pulled back bows, and beat the war drums, but he had never tried teaching.

Shen Yu stares at the word blankly. ZhenBei King doesn’t know how to teach, so he grows impatient.

“Pick up the pen, I’ll teach you how to write!”

With ZhenBei King holding Shen Yu’s hand, they start writing. Word after word, it doesn’t take them long to finish writing the whole passage.

ZhenBei King rests his chin on Shen Yu’s shoulder, breathing onto his neck. Shen Yu feels a bit delirious. His heart had been captured by the gentle ZhenBei King.

ZhenBei King was like a god to Shen Yu, and he was his slave. But, now… He is just like his husband.

Shen Yu tries to stay focused. If he couldn’t learn it by heart, there is no doubt it would anger ZhenBei King.

“Have you memorized it?”

Shen Yu nods. He picks up the pen and writes the whole chapter down, stroke by stroke.

ZhenBei King is astonished. He used to be called a genius when he was young. His teachers praised him ceaselessly, but he preferred the military over literature. Yet, compared to Shen Yu, he wasn’t even worth mentioning!

“You really have never been to school?!”

ZhenBei King is bewildered. There was hardly anyone whom he admired, but Shen Yu is the first to ever amaze him.

“Hahaha, Yu Er, you’re a genius!”

ZhenBei King showers him with praises, but that just makes Shen Yu flinch instead.

Did he just call him…Yu Er?

Shen Yu spins around to face the guffawing ZhenBei King. He heard it correctly, ZhenBei King called him Yu Er.

At all the times Shen had served ZhenBei King, their bodies had entwined. One could say their fates were tied, but their paths divided.

ZhenBei King had never said his name when they were making love.

ZhenBei King do not recognize him as an equal, he was simply a tool for him to relieve his desires, just a pet who did not even deserve a name. Even when ZhenBei King reached his climax, he never once called his name.

Shen Yu’s eyes get blurry with tears. It is the first time he ever thought that the name ‘Shen Yu’ was so beautiful, that the words ‘Yu Er’ from ZhenBei King’s lips could sound so pleasant and gentle.

Mother, look, he doesn’t call me a servant or a mute. He calls me Yu Er.
